  • Why don’t my Link apps (e.g. AUM) start exactly when I press play in my DAW?
Live Link bridges your DAW to Ableton Link. Apps like AUM typically start on a sync quantum (often 4 beats), not necessarily the instant you hit play.
Please check the settings menu for a sync option that best suits your system/setup
For the tightest start in External peers mode, press play in your DAW when your Link app is on the last beat of its sync quantum (the beat before the quantum resets to beat 1). That lines up the shared Link grid so everyone hits the downbeat together. Exotic tempo relationships are possible between host and Link enabled apps/devices in this mode.
If timing still feels off, use the Drift control in the Live Link menu-bar app to nudge START/STOP timing in milliseconds.
